Pharmachem Acquires Powder Processor

PharmachemLaboratories, based here, acquired Materials Processing Technology Inc. (MPT), acontract processor based in Paterson, N.J. Since 1978, MPT (www.mpti.com) hasoffered a range of powder processing services using fluid-bed, high shear andcontinuous processing technologies. Its 28,000- square-foot facility isregistered with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for commercial productionand follows GMPs (good manufacturing practices).

According to Dick Beitel, vice president of sales forPharmachem (www.pharmachem.com), the acquisition better positions the company tomeet demand in the increasingly competitive nutraceutical marketplace. BobMcCrimlisk, owner of MPT, agreed with the assessment, adding the company wasexcited about the future possibilities for the company.
