MINNEAPOLIS--The Minnesota Crop Improvement Association (MCIA)received notice from the state's Commissioner of Agriculture that the State ofMinnesota Department of Agriculture approved its application to become aDesignated Certification Organization (DCO) for the provision of organiccertification services in Minnesota. MCIA has also applied under the U.S.Department of Agriculture's (USDA) National Organic Program (NOP) to become anorganic certifier of organic production and handling operations in Minnesota,Iowa, Wisconsin, South Dakota and North Dakota. MCIA (www.mncia.org)is one of the oldest agricultural organizations in the state of Minnesota,organized in 1903.
