Laxson Recalls Cervelat Sausage Product

WASHINGTON—The USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced that Laxson Provision Company, a San Antonio firm is recalling approximately 350 pounds of a cervelat sausage product that may be undercooked.

The recall involves 3-3.5-pound vacuum packed chubs of "Ready to Eat Laxson Quality Meat Products CERVELAT." Each label bears the lot number "8952" and the date of production "Produced June 0809" and the establishment number "EST-13342" inside the USDA mark of inspection. Each case contains 12 3-3.5-pound chubs per box, which can be identified by the lot number "8952" and the item number "12053."

The product was produced on June 8, 2009 and packaged on June 9, 2009. The product distribution is limited to small grocers in the San Antonio area.
