Investigen Announces GMO Testing Capability
ALAMEDA, Calif.--Investigen, based here, planned to introduce its DNA-based genetically modified organism(GMO) testing services at the Natural Products Expo East in Washington, D.C. Investigen (www.investigen.com) can test for the presence of all 47 GMO events approved by the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) for commercial sale in the United States. The company's standard testing service for all GMO events gives results within eight hours, and can also demonstrate event specific detection and help with identity preservation. Investigen plans to release a self-testing kit based on the same technology in the next few months.
