Greenpeace Releases List of GE, Non-GE Foods

WASHINGTON--Greenpeace released an updated version of The True Food Shopping List, which divides thousands of common foods into genetically engineered (GE) and GE-free categories. The list, first published in 2000, contains nearly 200 new GE-free food products grouped into 20 categories."The FDA has been denying shoppers their right to know what they buy since it refused to label genetically engineered foods in 1992," said Kimberly Wilson, a Greenpeace GE campaigner. "Greenpeace is giving shoppers the power to choose alternatives."The list is available online atwww.truefoodnow.org/shopping_list.html.
