EEC Supports California Ephedra Bill

WASHINGTON--The Ephedra Education Council (EEC) reported thatit supports the revised California consumer protection bill, Senate Bill (SB)1884. EEC (www.ephedrafacts.com)stated that the new measure from Sen. Jackie Speier (D-San Francisco/San Mateo)reflects a common sense approach to ephedra supplements, including strictwarning labels and prohibition of sales to minors. The bill, which was passed bythe state Senate Aug. 31, is now on Gov. Grey Davis' desk. He had until the endof September to pass or veto it.
