BASFannounced its Kollidon VA 64 and Kollidon 90 F polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP)products were self-affirmed GRAS (generally recognized as safe). The companysaid new applications for these products may include easy-to-chew tablets aswell as better-tasting liquid vitamins.

Kollidon VA 64 and Kollidon 90 F have been usedas binders in pharmaceuticals because they have the ability to adsorb water,mask bitter tastes and provide a smooth texture. Now, they will enable dietarysupplement technologists to develop safe, innovative products.
