White House Forms New CAM Commission

WASHINGTON--On March 7, President Clinton issued an Executive Order that established the White House Commission on Complementary and Alternative Medicine Policy. A group of 15 members will serve as representatives for the complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) industries. The commission will have four main objectives.

Among the committee's tasks are educating and training healthcare practitioners in CAM care; coordinating research efforts to increase knowledge about CAM care; making reliable and accurate CAM information available to the general public; and making guidance available for the appropriate access to and delivery of CAM.
