Rhodiola May Improve Endurance

LEUVEN, BelgiumAthletes taking 200 mg of Rhodiola rosea before exercise showed a statistically significant overall improvement in performance and lower lactate levels after exercise (Int J Sports Nutr Exerc Metab, 14:292- 301, 2004). The researchers used a Rhodiola extract with a rosavins-to-salidroside ratio of three-to-one in their four-week study. The study involved 24 young adults given 200 mg/d of the extract and studied for impact on physical capacity, muscle strengths, speed of limb movement, reaction time and attention.
