ROMEPhenofarm and Horizon Italia joined forces to debut Phenolea®Complex Plus, an antioxidant ingredient made from olives. The antioxidant-packed extract can be added to foods and beverages, even those carrying local, green and natural claims.
The Italian company Phenofarm starts with olive pulp, and controls the supply chain along the way; the Italian company uses eco-friendly membrane technology, which does not use solvents. As a result, Frost & Sullivan gave Phenofarm the 2012 Europe New Product Innovation award for its Phenolea® Complex in October.
With the new partnership, consulting firm Horizon Italia will help Phenofarm develop applications and provide technical and analytical services.
The partnership allows PhenoFarm® to deliver custom-made all natural solutions for food quality improvement and cost saving on the back of consumer demand against the increasing price trend for natural antioxidants, " said Stefano Germani, PhenoFarm CEO.
