That’s not to say that the classic pairings don’t still resonate with consumers—nuts, mint, caramel and toffee, fruits, etc. In fact, the 2013 Global Chocolate Report by the Sterling-Rice Group, Boulder, Colorado, found almonds were the No. 1 ingredient chosen by consumers when asked about their ideal chocolate product.
