PARSIPPANY, N.J.Nutritional company DSM introduced a new product form of AstaSana astaxanthin. The new 10-percent fluid suspension form is supported by a strong safety package and is now available through the supplement market. Â The free form of astaxanthin is nature-identical and is de-esterified into the carotenoid's free form in the human gastrointestinal (GI) tract. According to DSM, the ingredient has been formally approved by FDA as food supply article of commerce.
AstaSana Astaxanthin is a potent antioxidant and helps complement other existing antioxidants in a formulation," said Anthony Palmieri, senior marketing manager. "It offers manufacturers the ability to differentiate their products and give their antioxidant cocktail an edge."
