Danisco Announces Hydrocolloid Price Increase

REIGATE, Surrey, United KingdomDuPont Nutrition & Health announced a global price increase of its Grindsted® hydrocolloids from the DuPont Danisco® ingredient portfolio, effective Nov. 1, 2012, or when contracts are renewed. The company said the price increase necessary because it has been unable to compensate for significant increases in raw material, energy and fuel costs seen across its hydrocolloid range.

Products under the Grindsted trademark include alginate, carrageenan, cellulose gum (CMC), guar gum, locust bean gum, microcrystalline cellulose (MCC), pectin and xanthan gum, as well as customized solutions of hydrocolloids, emulsifiers, enzymes, etc., to the global food industry.
