AVIGNON, France NuW Excellence Awards jury nominated Bionov's Cellulight® Beauty Innovation of the Year by the at the 2012 Health Ingredients Europe event in Frankfurt. The ingredient is the first 100-percent natural and vegetal product to fight cellulite by oral route. The product uses melon fruit and superoxide dismutase (SOD) to reduce cellulite.

Bionov cites a double blind, randomized, placebo-controlled clinical trial noting Cellulight's success. In the trial, 41 women with cellulite took 40 mg of Cellulight daily. After four weeks, the women averaged a 9.5-percent reduction in fat nodes on their thighs.

In addition to melon fruit and SOD, marine-based ingredients like algae have been shown to decrease cellulite.
