WASHINGTON—The Natural Products Association (NPA) will host an event in support of Rep. Frank Pallone (D-N.J.) and Shore PAC (political action committee) on Sunday, June 1 at Keens Steakhouse in Manhattan.
Rep. Pallone has been a longtime champion in congress for the natural products industry and will soon face Rep. Anna Eshoo (D-Calif.) to replace retiring Rep. Henry Waxman (D-Calif.) as the top democrat on the House Energy and Commerce Committee (E&C). This is the committee of jurisdiction on the House side for industries, such as dietary supplements, foods and personal care products that are regulated by FDA. The race between Reps. Pallone and Eshoo is expected to be close. NPA hopes that strong efforts, such as the fundraising event at Keens Steakhouse, will support Rep. Pallone’s campaign for the committee position.
