SALT LAKE CITY—Ontario based KGK Synergize joined the United Natural Products Alliance (UNPA) as a science and technology services member, the second company to join this week.
KGK Synergize, based in London, Ontario, was established in 1997 and was founded by three scientists associated with the Centre for Human Nutrition at the University of Western Ontario. KGK operates two divisions, a contract research services (CRS) division and a new product development division. The new product development division implements screening techniques to develop nutraceuticals and functional food products to the point where they are ready to market.
The CRS division provides a wide range of research studies to third-party organizations. KGK guides its clients through the research process, assisting them in identifying the health benefits of their products. KGK routinely works with clients to conduct studies that meet Food and Drug Administration regulations, Federal Trade Commission guidelines and aid in claims substantiation.
“Product safety, efficacy and claims substantiation are central to meeting consumer expectations and satisfaction," said Loren Israelsen, UNPA president. “KGK Synergize has proven itself to be a North American leader in bringing science, safety and research technologies to the natural products industry. We welcome the KGK Synergize team to the UNPA membership and look forward to many future collaborations."
