COMMACK, N.Y.—Gemini Pharmaceuticals became the first contract manufacturer to gain certification under the new RIBUS® Certified Contract Manufacturer Program.
During the past two years, Gemini demonstrated the expertise needed to properly utilize RIBUS rice-based alternatives to synthetic excipients, Nu-FLOW® and Nu-RICE®, in dietary supplement formulas. This announcement was made during a meeting held at the SupplySide West.
The RIBUS rice based materials comply with the organic regulatory changes to remove silicon dioxide by the November 2014 deadline. Additionally, Nu-FLOW and Nu-RICE are used as replacements for stearates, i.e. Mg stearate, vegetable stearate, stearic acid, etc., in the supplement manufacturing process.
