NEXTY SS - Best Life Stage-Specific Supplement.jpg

The NEXTY Awards at SupplySide West recognize innovation, inspiration and integrity across a range of finished product categories—from condition-specific supplements and nutrient delivery innovation to functional food/beverage and brand storytelling. Eligible products must have been launched to the U.S. consumer market between summer 2018 and July 31, 2019.

Known for the last seven years as the SupplySide West Editor’s Choice Awards, in 2019 the ECAs have been rebranded as the NEXTY Awards at SupplySide West. This evolution embraces the industry recognition of the NEXTY brand as a symbol of excellence and further aligns the SupplySide and Natural Products Expo events.

The Best Life Stage Specific Supplement category calls for innovation in more ways than one. Consumers are starting to look for products that are as flexible as they are. Even when it comes to delivery forms, the traditional pill no longer has the market cornered. Consumer demand is allowing alternative delivery methods like gummies and powders to hit their strides in the marketplace. Organic and/or easy-to-pronounce ingredients in life stage specific products are becoming more commonplace. Another driver is having a product backed by clinical research and studies. Checking off one of the boxes above for innovation goes a long way but checking off more than one can deliver a potential hit.

BioCeuticals’ ArmaForce Pregnancy is a supplement that helps to provide gestational immune support through simple and easy-to-pronounce ingredients. The supplement looks to address the issue of compromised immune health during pregnancy, offering a product for a subpopulation with limited options. ArmaForce Pregnancy offers an increased amount of vitamin C and zinc, alongside vitamin D and lactoferrin. The supplement is also manufactured by a Therapeutic Goods Administration-licensed and GMP (good manufacturing practice)-adherent manufacturer.

The product is a once-daily chewable tablet formulated from zeaxanthin and other nutrients targeting children from the ages of 4 to 17. EyePromise also gives back through many sight-saving organizations such as Optometry Giving Sight, Discovery Eye Foundation, Foundation Fighting Blindness and Delta Gamma Center for Children with Visual Impairments. EyePromise Teen is free from GMOs, gluten and lactose, and manufactured in a GMP-compliant facility.

-NatureMadePrenatalGummies-Pharmavite_NatureMade2019.jpg

-Urox-SeipelGroup2019.jpg

Urox’s Bladder Control is a proprietary, patented, vegan and herbal bladder control formula in a two-capsule dose. The company works closely with raw material suppliers to ensure effective quality control (QC). The herbs in Urox are grown without the use of pesticides. Through its suppliers, Seipel Group supports sustainable farming and replanting of native forests. It has developed independent chromatographic profiling of its finished product to ensure consistency of quality, and funds regular clinical research for its formula—with five clinical trials completed and a sixth trial underway.
