Tyson Foods Acquires Boscos Pizza Co.

Tyson Foods, Inc., acquired the assets of Boscos Pizza Co., a Michigan-based producer of a stuffed breadsticks and frozen pizzas for foodservice and retail throughout the Midwest and at some retailers nationwide. Terms of the acquisition, which was completed Jan. 18, 2014, were not disclosed.

SPRINGDALE, ArkTyson Foods, Inc., acquired the assets of Boscos Pizza Co., a Michigan-based producer of a stuffed breadsticks and frozen pizzas for foodservice and retail throughout the Midwest and at some retailers nationwide. Terms of the acquisition, which was completed Jan. 18, 2014, were not disclosed.

Donnie King, Tyson Foods president of prepared foods, customer and consumer solutions, said the acquisition is part of the companys strategic plan to grow its domestic prepared foods business.

The company will become part of Tyson Foods Prepared Foods division, but continue to operate under the Boscos Pizza Co. name. Craig Mulhinch, vice president of Boscos sales and marketing, and Paul Morgan, vice president of Boscos operations, will continue to manage the day-to-day operations, and the companys 150 employees are expected to become Tyson Foods team members.
