With the Natural Products Association (NPA)’s new members, Naturex’s recently expanded factory, KitoZyme’s extended product range and more, industry organizations and companies continue their impressive developments from 2014 to 2015.

The Natural Products Association (NPA) welcomed 13 new members to the organization in December 2014, expanding the organization even further since Daniel Fabricant, Ph.D., rejoined the association to become CEO and executive director earlier in the year. The new members include: Custom Essence, Scorpion Sales & Ent. LLC, Elliott Organics Inc., Dicentra, Natural Grocers, BioPQQ, A Healthy Alternative LLC, Best Life PharmaNaturals, Nanosphere Health Sciences, RKL Consulting, Strictly Gluten Free, Jacobs Compliance Services and Nature's Pharm.

Naturex recently expanded its factory in Linares, Chile, in the presence of state representatives, local officials, the French Embassy, staff and company partners. Thierry Lambert, president, and Olivier Rigaud, chief executive officer, invited participants on a tour of the newly designed factory specialized in quillaia extraction and purification. During a speech, Rigaud commented on the group’s ambition to conquer new and emerging markets, along with the important role of creating long-term value through quillaia. He also emphasized the success of the group’s development strategy and its orientation towards a sustainable future.

To expand its offerings to consumers, ActionPak Inc. introduced its short-run shrink sleeve labeling services, some of which include grid testing, template design, material selection, printing, application, secondary packaging and distribution. The company’s shrink sleeve labeling services accommodate a broad range of packaging materials, including plastic, glass and metal.

In 2015, KitoZyme will also expand its product range with the launch of three new food supplements and/or medical devices, which have been approved by regulatory authorities in the United States and Europe. These products are designed for the sectors of digestive health (KiOfiber), weight management (KiOslim Double Action) and cardiovascular health (KiOcardio). KitoZyme will also continue its geographical expansion outside of Europe by selling in several gulf states (Kuwait, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates), where it will be marketing products under its own brand name in the weight management sector.

And finally, INNOBIO Ltd. obtained self-affirmed GRAS (generally recognized as safe) status for its line of conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) products, expanding on the company’s credibility. Under provisions of the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act, administered by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), INNOBIO’s CLA products were submitted to extensive review by a panel of experts to thoroughly examine all aspects of process and production. After a comprehensive evaluation of research studies and toxicology data, the panel concluded that INNOBIO CLA products are safe for use as ingredients in a variety of products, including beverages, confectionery products, dietary supplements and nutritional bars.
