RONKONKOMA, N.Y.—NBTY received a bronze award in The American Business Awards (also known as the Stevie Awards) for Corporate Social Responsibility Program of the Year.
During the 2013 award period, NBTY donated more than $7 million in vitamins, nutrition bars, supplements and funding to more than 30 organizations that support families in need, veterans, children, victims of natural disasters, rescue and relief crews and others. The company assists both domestic and international organizations.

The Stevie Awards were created to honor and generate public recognition of efforts, accomplishments and positive contributions of companies and business people worldwide. This year, more than 3,300 nominations from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted for consideration in a wide range of categories. Stevie Award winners were selected by more than 240 executives worldwide who participated in the judging process.
NBTY also recently won the silver award for Most Socially Responsible Company of the Year from the Best in Biz Awards.
