BENEO Names Denisse Colindres to Manager Nutrition Communication for the North American Region

BENEO, a manufacturers of functional ingredients, announced that Denisse Colindres has been named to the position of manager nutrition communication for the North American region. In her role, Denisse will be communicating the nutrition research that substantiates the health benefits of BENEO’s functional ingredients from natural sources.

“We are extremely pleased to welcome Denisse to the NAFTA team," said Jon Peters, president of BENEO Inc. “As a recognized expert in nutritional science and communication, she will provide in-depth knowledge to our customers and health professionals with a focus on the needs of the consumer. Healthier food and beverage products are increasingly important to the U.S. and Canadian markets with consumers looking to better understand how a smart diet can contribute to a healthy lifestyle and well-being."

In addition to her new position, Colindres is also a member of the BENEO-Institute, an initiative of BENEO. The BENEO-Institute provides the latest research and knowledge in nutrition science and legislation related to BENEO’s chicory root fibers and functional carbohydrates. It was founded by experts from biochemistry, chemistry nutritional science, and regulatory.

Prior to joining BENEO, Colindres worked for several years in the food industry as an expert in nutrition. With a keen interest in public health strategies to increase healthy food choices, she held several positions including company nutritionist, and R&D manager for nutrition and health.

Colindres graduated (with honors) from Loyola University in New Orleans with a degree in Biological Sciences. She pursued her master’s degree in human nutrition and health at the University of Wageningen in the Netherlands and received a diploma in management from the University of Antwerp, Belgium.
