KEARNY, N.J.—Pharmachem Laboratories Inc. created a new Food & Beverage Group to focus on the needs of the food and beverage industry, identifying custom manufacturing and branded ingredient opportunities across all Pharmachem companies. The company tapped Gregory Drew as new business manager for the group.
“We’re using the same business model that has made Pharmachem a global leader in nutritional markets to penetrate more conventional food and drink categories with our custom processes and branded ingredients,” Drew said. The first targeted launch was StarchLite®, an all-natural ingredient designed to delay digestion of carbohydrates and reduce the glycemic index of starchy foods. Other branded ingredients from Pharmachem (www.pharmachemlabs.com) with application in the food and beverage market are Advasterol™ plant sterols and Lactium, a hydrolysate of milk protein.
