Chemi Nutra Facility Gets FDA OK

MILAN, Italy—Chemi S.p.A. announced its manufacturing facility in Camacari, Brazil, ITF Chemical Ltda., passed U.S. FDA inspection for pharmaceutical and nutraceutical ingredient production. Chemi acquired the plant in 2000, and has invested heavily in modernization and expansion to ensure full regulatory and GMP (good manufacturing practice) compliance.

Scott Hagerman, president of Chemi Nutra, the White Bear Lake, Minn.-based U.S. business unit of Chemi S.p.A., said, “We are again very pleased that our Brazilian manufacturing facility has passed another round of FDA inspections with flying colors. All of our customers can rest assured that our SerinAid® PhosphatidylSerine (PS) and other specialty nutrition ingredients used in dietary supplements and functional foods, are manufactured in state-of-the-art FDA-inspected production facilities, and well within all applicable GMP regulations now in place in the nutritional products industry.”
