Abbott Labs, Martek Partner

ABBOTT PARK, Ill.--Abbott Laboratories and Martek Biosciences Corp. signed a non-exclusive licensing agreement that will enable Abbott to introduce infant formula products with Martek's long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acid technology.

Abbott will make cash payments to Martek, which will also receive a royalty when the products are introduced. Specifically, Abbott licensed Martek's docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and arachidonic acid (AA). Visit either website, www.abbott.com, or www.martekbio.com, for more information.
