The Nov. 4 election was a mixed bag for the food and beverage industry. While two states in the West rejected ballot initiatives that would have required labeling of genetically engineered foods, one of the nation's most liberal cities imposed a tax on sodas--settting a potentially dangerous precedent for the industry.
