PISCATAWAY, N.J. Sabinsa received the 2009 Thomas Alva Edison Patent Award in the nutraceuticals category from the Research and Development Council of New Jersey, honoring Sabinsas patent (No. 7,063,861), Bioavailability Composition of Natural and Synthetic HCA. Sabinsa supplies the proprietary ingredient GarCitrin®, an extract delivering hydroxycitric acid (HCA) with garcinol, a polyisoprenylated benzophenone isolated from Garcinia cambogia and Garcinia indica.

We are honored to receive the 2009 Thomas Alva Edison Patent Award, said Muhammed Majeed, Ph.D., founder of Sabinsa. We have long held the belief that science and innovation can benefit human nutrition, and it is gratifying to have that commitment validated by this distinguished organization.
