NeptuneTechnologies and Bioressources (www.neptunebiotech.com) formed a strategicalliance with Degussa AG in Dusseldorf, Germany. The alliance includes atwo-tiered product to expand the pipeline for Neptunes patented Neptune KrillOil (NKO). The NKO product, logo and trademark were recently approved andregistered by the European Registration Office, permitting the company to sellthe ingredient in Europe.

Under terms of the new agreement, Degussa and Neptune willwork to develop the market for an array of phospholipids includingphosphatidylcholine (PC), phosphatidylethanolamine (PE) and phosphatidylinositol(PI). Neptune will also tap into Degussas expertise in supercritical CO2extraction to customize its NKO product for new food applications.
