MSM Investments Settles Patent Infringement Suits

PORTLAND, Ore.--MSM Investments Co. reached settlements withStryka Botanics Co. in Belle Mead, N.J., and Nutratech Inc. in Fairfield, N.J.,over patent infringement suits MSM Investments had filed. Under terms of thesettlements, Nutratech and Stryka agreed to acquire MSM only from sourceslicensed by MSM Investments, as long as the patents at issue in the lawsuitremained in force. Among the U.S. patents involved are 4,514,421; 4,559,329;4,914,135; and 4,973,605.

According to Robert Herschler, manager of MSM Investments, the companyintends to further pursue other companies purchasing unlicensed product,particularly from foreign sources, which he said is not manufactured to the samequality standards as licensed MSM made in the United States.
