Integrity Awarded Patent on Cinnamon, Creatine Combo

SPRING HILL, Tenn. Integrity Nutraceuticals Inc. announced it received notice from the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office (PTO) awarding a new patent (No. 7,504,118), Dietary supplements containing extracts of cinnamon and methods of using same to enhance creatine transport. Integrity partnered with Baylor University in studies showing the companys Cinnulin PF water-soluble cinnamon extract can enhance creatine uptake by muscle cells; results of the study are expected to be published by the end of 2009.

This is a milestone for our company in its pursuit to build an extensive intellectual property portfolio, said Tim Romero, president of Integrity. We have put a lot of resources behind Cinnulin PF both from a scientific and intellectually property standpoint so we are very proud to be able to say the Cinnulin PF is now a patented and exclusive ingredient. 

Integrity further noted it has partnered with Chromadex Laboratories as a third party lab certifier for Cinnulin PF to comply with the new GMP (good manufacturing practice) regulations for dietary ingredients and dietary supplements requiring companies verify the identity of their products through valid methods.
