Cheese Spreads Recalled Over Undeclared Soy

WASHINGTONShuckmans Fish Co., a Louisville, Ky., firm, is recalling 8-ounce packages of Mooneys Kentucky Bourbon Cheese and Valumarket Beer Cheese Spread because they may contain the undeclared allergen, soy, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced Jan. 28.

The recall involves Mooneys Kentucky Bourbon Cheese 8-ounce plastic containers with sell by dates of April 5, 2011, and April 19, 2011; and ValuMarket Beer Cheese Spread 8-ounce plastic containers with sell by dates of Nov. 16, 2010, Nov. 28, 2010, Dec. 18, 2010, Dec. 22, 2010, Jan. 12, 2011, Jan. 26, 2011, March 13, 2011, and April 14, 2011.

The affected products were distributed to retail stores in Kentucky.
