EAST WINDSOR, N.J.Sabinsa Corporation broke ground on a new $5-million, 75,000-square-foot continuous extraction facility in Dobaspet, India, which will increase production capacity by 200%. The new manufacturing plant, slated to be operational by mid-2014, will be located next to the companys existing continuous extraction facility.
The manufacturing plant will feature a 25 metric ton per day capacity continuous extractor, a 15,000-square-foot downstream facility, a microbiology lab, and a 45,000-square-foot warehouse.
Commenting during the groundbreaking ceremony last month, Sabinsa Founder Muhammed Majeed, said: While we are primarily known for investing heavily in science and IP, we clearly also invest in ensuring a sustainable supply of our proprietary ingredients to the marketplace. Our farm cultivation program was the first part of the sustainability endeavor, and this expansion is part two."
