Cannabis is claiming its spot in the marketplace, and is appearing in everything from food and beverage products to dietary supplements and beauty products. Stuart Tomc, vice president of human nutrition at CannaVest, talked about cannabis trends in the natural products industry during Natural Products Expo West, in Anaheim, California, March 4-8. Specifically, Tomc spoke on the growing popularity of the cannabinoid CBD in supplements, foods and beverages.

In fact, several products launched during Expo West featured CBD. For example, Kannaway’s Cannabis Beauty Defined new hemp-powered products utilize ingredients such as CBD-rich hemp oil, hemp seed oil and hemp stock oil, as noted in this INSIDER Image Gallery. An energy drink, Canna Energy by Cannalife USA, is infused with 50 mg hemp seed oil to deliver omega-3 and omega-6 essential fatty acids (EFAs), also noted in an INISDER Image Gallery.

According to an article by Josh Long, “Cannabis Revolution: An Exploration of Hemp and CBD,” CBD may be effective in producing a number of health benefits, from relieving seizures to reducing inflammation.
