New research suggests patients with chronic heart failure (CHF) taking fish oil supplements fare better than those on the prescription statin drug Crestor. Findings from parallel studies that showed a reduction in mortality and hospital admissions among the fish oil patients were published online in The Lancet (10.1016/S0140-6736(08)61239-8) and presented at a meeting of the European Society of Cardiology.
