MARINOL has been a popular ingredient for food developers in Europe for the infant nutrition, food and dietary supplement industries. Stepan launched the ingredient in the United States in early June at Ingredient Marketplace.
The ingredient is made via a gentle, proprietary natural concentration and purification process, resulting in an optimized combination of sensory, science and safety benefits for the essential omega-3 fatty acids eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). The process also produces a clean-tasting omega-3, which is a common issue for product developers and a concern for consumers.
Additionally, Stepan’s senior scientist Hiskias Keizer will explain the health benefits of omega-3s in a presentation called “The Relevance of Lipid Structure on Availability of Omega-3 Fatty Acids." The presentation will be held on Oct. 8 from 1 p.m. to 1:20 p.m. during the VendorBrief presentations.
