MORRISTOWN, N.J.P.L. Thomas and HG&H Pharmaceuticals will introduce their new Zembrin® Sceletium tortuosum extract at SupplySide West, Nov. 3 to 5. This is the sceletium ingredient's debut in the United States, as it just completed the new dietary ingredient (NDI) notification process.

The ingredient can be incorporated into functional food and beverage products interested in its stress-relieving and mood-enhancing effects. In a recent randomized, double blind study, researchers studied 20 healthy adults with 25 mg doses of Zembrin. The Zembrin group experienced significant improvement in cognitive set flexibility and executive function.

Earlier this month, P.L. Thomas boosted its partnership with Ganeden Biotech to further promote GanedenBC30 in the food and beverage market.
