SAN CLEMENTE, Calif.—In June, Metagenics Inc. (www.metagenics.com) concluded the acquisition of Biodynamics NV, an Oostende, Belgium-based manufacturer of nutraceutical products for the health care and pharmacy markets in the Benelux countries, as well as Biodynamics’ logistics and distributor subsidiaries. Biodynamics served as a distributor of Metagenics products into the European Union (E.U.). With the acquisition, Metagenics hopes to expand Biodynamics’ distribution into other E.U. countries. The move echoes Metagenics’ May 2005 purchase of Health World Ltd., a leading manufacturer and distributor of dietary supplements for the health care channels in Australia and New Zealand.
