Fortitech Acquires Ashlands Premix Business

SCHENECTADY, N.Y.Fortitech Inc. signed an agreement to acquireAshland Distribution Co.s nutritional premix blending business. Ashland willtransfer its nutritional premix manufacturing business to Fortitech, which willtake over operations from the existing facility in Fontana, Calif. Closing isexpected to take place by September.

The acquisition of Ashlands premix business marks a milestone forFortitechs expansion efforts in North America, said Walter Borisenok,president of Fortitech. It amplifies Fortitechs capabilities, providing uswith a manufacturing, sales and distribution center on the West Coast thatallows for greater operational efficiencies and enhanced customer support. As aresult, customers will benefit from improved service, flexible batch sizes andtimely delivery.

In other news from Fortitech, the company launched FortiSource, acomprehensive online research and product development resource. As part of thecompany Web site (www.fortitech.com),FortiSource offers access to full nutrient monographs, professional briefs onhealth conditions and diseases, and expanded information on interactions anddepletions between nutrients.
