Probiotics are becoming increasingly popular among product developers and consumers. Although the mechanisms of probiotic function are well documented, questions of a basic level often arise within industry. Whether focused on probiotics’ potential to impact the microbiome or establishing the correct dosage, it’s clear there’s more to learn about the popular ingredient.

In this video, Maria Marco, Ph.D., associate professor in the Department of Food Science & Technology, University of California, Davis, addressed the topic at Ingredient Marketplace in Orlando earlier this year. She’ll continue the conversation at SupplySide West in Las Vegas, at a special half-day workshop. “Tapping the Growing Probiotics Supplement Market” takes place Saturday, Oct. 8, and will include information such as new market trend data and a U.S. regulatory update.
