Companies such as Ingredients by Nature (IBN), AIDP and Mazza Innovation recently rolled out a variety of new ingredients in the categories of protein, immune health, sports nutrition and digestion.

IBN announced plans to launch a line of branded, proprietary plant-based protein blends stemming from its new partnership with Ingredient Alliance. IBN will be exclusively handling the manufacturing, processing and quality control for products under the brand names SoluHemp, SoluFava, SoluChia and SoluFlax. The company will be co-branding and trademarking the ingredients and proprietary blends with Ingredient Alliance. 

U!be Group Inc. chose Wellmune®, the natural immune health ingredient from Biothera, as the key component for its latest product, U!be Complete®. A daily nutritional supplement, U!be Complete is designed for integrated medical professionals who are helping patients strengthen their immune systems and cultivate healthy habits. PreticX is a GRAS (generally recognized as safe)-certified and Non-GMO Verified prebiotic that has been shown in clinical studies to significantly increase the proliferation of bifidobacterium in both low and high doses. PreticX is classified as a prebiotic, and is a non-GMO corn-derived form of oligosaccharides called xylooligosaccharides or XOS, comprising a group of polysaccharides called xylans. Xylans are common constituents of plant cell walls based on xylose, a pentose sugar.

Mazza Innovation developed a portfolio of clean ingredients extracted naturally using the company’s PhytoClean™ Method. Mazza’s new portfolio of ingredients will provide manufacturers with an important opportunity to offer clean label products to the natural products industry. The PhytoClean™ Method is Mazza’s patented core technology that yields clean ingredients with an earth-friendly process producing concentrated bioactives from plant materials without using solvents such as ethanol, methanol or acetone, reducing the risk of residual solvents in the ingredients. The PhytoClean™ Method works by pressurizing water at higher temperatures, lowering the polarity of the water to the levels of ethanol which increases the water’s ability to solubilize bioactive compounds and causes it to behave like an organic solvent.
