Ganeden Biotech Celebrates Probiotic Advancements

CLEVELAND—Ganeden Biotech will head to SupplySide West 2014 celebrating the 18th published study on its GanedenBC30 ingredient, plus the naming of KeVita and The Cookie Department as finalists in SupplySide’s CPG Editor's Choice Awards.

GanedenBC30 has received regulatory approvals in more than sixty countries throughout the world; most recently, GanedenBC30 has been approved in Mexico, Japan, India, Taiwan and the Philippines, with many more being announced as 2014 comes to a close. The global footprint of GanedeBC30 continues to grow, granting endless opportunities for innovative probiotic food and beverage applications all over the world.

In addition, the 18th published study on GanedenBC30 has just been completed. This study demonstrated that GanedenBC30 supports both digestive and immune health in HIV subjects. The study also provided additional evidence that even in an immune-compromised subject group, there is an absence of safety concerns when consuming GanedenBC30 on a daily basis.

The first ever probiotic monograph is now published in the Food Chemical Codex (FCC) from the U.S. Pharmacopeial Convention (USP). The monograph is specific to the strain Bacillus coagulans GBI-30, 6086 (GanedenBC30) and provides strain specific standards for testing the identity, concentration and purity of the probiotic.

Informa Exhibitions named two Ganeden Biotech partner products as finalists in the 2014 SupplySide CPG Editor's Choice Awards. Designed to recognize innovation and market significance, five 2014 consumer packaged goods (CPG) products were selected by the SupplySide editorial team in 20 different categories. One winner in each category will be announced at SupplySide West 2014 during the SupplySide CPG Editor's Choice Awards Reception on Wednesday, October 8, at the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas.

Both formulated with the probiotic GanedenBC30, The Cookie Department's probiotic Cherry Bomb cookie is a finalist in the snacks category, and KeVita's Blueberry Cherry, Tangerine, and Hibiscus Berry probiotic sparkling drink is listed as a finalist in the digestive health category.
