Chr. Hansen Advisory Board to Guide Probiotics Exploration

HORSHOLM, Denmark—Chr. Hansen established a scientific advisory board to provide guidance for its microbiome efforts and exploration of "second generation" probiotics.

The role of the board is to provide advice, support and challenge to Chr. Hansen’s management team with respect to developing new probiotic products, guiding the portfolio expansion into the microbiome, clinical trials, and accessing relevant networks and partners across the world.

The new board will consist of thought leaders in the industry, including Eric Claassen, professor at Erasmus Medical Centre Rotterdam and at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam; Gary D Wu, professor of medicine, Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania; Willem M de Vos, professor of microbiology, Wageningen University; Robert JM Brummer, professor of gastroenterology and clinical nutrition, Nutrition-Gut-Brain Interactions Research Centre; and Ruth Thieroff-Ekerdt, founder and member, Panda Consulting.

The scientific advisory board will work closely together with the scientific committee of Chr. Hansen’s board of directors.
