For the 52 weeks ending Feb. 19, 2017, the U.S. market for digestive health ingredients was valued at US$1.04 billion, and represented 10 percent growth compared to sales for the previous year, according to SPINS. Although probiotics maintain the largest share of the market, ingredients such as activated charcoal, fennel, ginger, psyllium and artichoke extract are on the rise.
