Recent actions by FTC and FDA have indicated natural products companies are responsible for claims made about their products by affiliates and distributors. On the heels of two warning letters (here and here) from FDA about such affiliate/distributor claims, natural products industry attorney Justin Prochnow, Greenberg Traurig LLP, talked to INSIDER's Steve Myers about how companies can address this responsibility by establishing affiliate monitoring programs. He outlines a three-step approach that should demonstrate to the agencies a company is taking affiliate claims seriously. His advice includes suggestions for companies with large numbers of affiliates and/or districutors.
