KEARNY, N.J.Pharmachem Laboratories released a scientific dossier for Lactium®, a casein hydrolysate containing a bioactive decapeptide with relaxing properties. Available at the Lactium Web site and in hard copy format on request, the 238-page dossier includes safety and regulatory data, including GRAS (generally recognized as safe) affirmation and suggested label claims; 19 research studies; 11 application and analysis studies; technical documents; and frequently asked questions.

The dossier contains all the available research and application studies on Lactium and is the most comprehensive technical document developed for the ingredient to date, said Mitch Skop, director of new product development for Pharmachem, the exclusive distributor for the stress-relieving ingredient in several global markets. As a supplement, Lactium can be incorporated into a daily multivitamin, an anti-stress formulation or as a stand-alone product. As a functional food ingredient, it is versatile enough for use in ready-to-drink beverages, drink mixes, bars, chocolates and more.
