SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.—The Council for Responsible Nutrition (www.CRNusa.org) is preparing for its annual conference, which will take place here in early October. Among the announced breakout sessions is one focused on the new Standardized Information on Dietary Ingredients (SIDI) protocol. Industry execs who will serve on the panel include Dave Schoneker, Colorcon; Kristen Blanchard, Nutramax Laboratories; and Max Motyka, Albion. The SIDI breakout session is designed to review obstacles that may be responsible for the reluctance of ingredient suppliers and manufacturers to use the new protocol, which was designed to streamline and standardize ingredient information and reduce reliance on vendor qualification questionnaires.
