NEVADA, IowaThe Story County Alliance for Philanthropy awarded Burke Corporation the Outstanding Corporate Philanthropist award for their donations of meat products and cash, as well as the companys encouragement of employees to volunteer in the community.

 Along with being a major donor to four significant Story County projectsincluding DMACC Ames Hunziker Career Academy; Mary Greeley Medical Center; S.C.O.R.E. Recreation Athletic Complex; and Story County Medical CenterBurke Corporations employees have volunteered in countless activities around the community and donated nearly $33,000 to United Way in 2008.
