Diminished consumer trust is an issue faced by the dietary supplement industry and caused by factors such as negative media attention, the belief by consumers that the industry is unregulated, and the prevalence of adulterated products and unsubstantiated claims in the market. As such, emphasis has been placed on transparency with the ultimate goal of establishing trust with consumers.
