Study Finds High Absorption Levels in OptiMSM

VANCOUVER, Wash.--In a study conducted at the Equine Research Center in Ontario, Canada, it was found that Cardinal Nutrition's OptiMSM was readily absorbed and retained through the intestinal tract of horses. In an analysis of the animal's feces, it was hypothesized that 55 percent of the supplement was absorbed by the horse. Peak levels were noted on day five of the study, but they rapidly declined after the supplement was removed from the daily diet. Tests at McMaster University in Ontario showed large amounts of OptiMSM in blood levels, and a Colorado State University analysis found that OptiMSM was present in the synovial fluid lubricating the horses' joints.
