MINNEAPOLIS--Cargill Health & FoodTechnologies introduced OptaFlex, a solvent-free chondroitin sulfate derivedfrom North American sources, during the recent SupplySide West in Las Vegas.Using proprietary technology, the company is able to produce chondroitin sulfatewithout the use of traditional solvents; it is also exclusively NorthAmerican-sourced. According to Cargill (www.cargill.com),the introduction complements its plans to introduce Regenasure, anon-shellfish glucosamine, next year.
